The new movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” tells the story of famous rock band Queen and their rise to glory and fame all while focusing on the life of lead singer, Freddie Mercury.

The movie shows how a small band went from performing at bars to selling out arenas around the world.

It included facts about each member’s personal life and how that factored into their music. The way the movie was filmed, with many close-up shots, captured the emotions of the actors, captivating the audience and making a personal connection with them.

Freddie Mercury was portrayed perfectly by actor Rami Malek who made the role come to life on the big screen. Malek captured Mercury’s bold personality and lifestyle while onstage and off.

The movie also emphasized the making and producing of the hit song “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Because the song is six minutes long, producer Ray Foster, played by Mike Myers, did not think radio stations would air the song.

Overall, the movie is captivating and thrilling as it goes on, showing the making of songs and drama between characters. Most of the drama focuses on Mercury and includes a heartwarming tribute about his life after the Live Aid performance. Mercury died in 1991 at 45, and the cause of his death is pneumonia as a complication of AIDS.

Queen influenced the music we have today by blurring the lines of genres and trying new styles. “Bohemian Rhapsody” is a movie for the old fans and the new. Non-Queen fans may not enjoy the movie as the near-entirety of the soundtrack is Queen songs, but the movie is well written and well produced with emotional storylines and wicked soundtrack.
