And then there were four.

Grace Kowalkowski signed an NCAA Division I national letter of intent to compete in track and field for the University of Minnesota on Dec. 13, marking the fourth NCAA Division 1 recruit from this year’s senior class.

Kowalkowski, the daughter of Frank and Julie Kowalkowski, is a three-time WIAA Division 1 state meet qualifier in the pole vault. She finished as runner-up in the event as a freshman, and has placed third at state the past two seasons.

Kowalkowski helped the Redbirds win the Fox River Classic Conference team championship in 2016. Her personal career best in the pole vault is 12 feet, 3 inches, and she has also competed in the triple jump and hurdles.

“Grace has been an important part of the success of De Pere track and field these past three years,” Redbirds coach James Boyd said. “She has battled through injuries and has consistently been one of our top performers. Minnesota is getting a great competitor. I know Grace will represent De Pere well.”
